The aim of this Symposium is to provide information to stakeholders in the sports settings on how to improve the availability and quality of health-enhancing sports activities in their organisations and communities by adopting the SCforH approach.
The Symposium will include six 10-minute presentations by experts in sports and health promotion.
SCforH is the largest European initiative for the promotion of health in the sports settings. The initiative started in 2008, to assist sports clubs in promoting health-enhancing sports activity. In support of this endeavour, SCforH guidelines were issued in 2011 and updated in 2017. The SCforH initiative included partner organisations from 18 countries. In 2013, the Council of the European Union proposed the national implementation of SCforH guidelines as one of the 23 indicators for evaluation of physical activity levels and policies in the European Union member states. Recently, the European Commission recognised the SCforH initiative as a “success story” and an example of good practice. Learn more about SCforH as part of this Symposium!
The Symposium will be held as a part of the “Creating Mechanisms for Continuous Implementation of the Sports Club for Health Guidelines in the European Union” (‘SCforH 2020-22’) project, funded by the Erasmus+ Collaborative Partnerships grant (ref: 613434-EPP-1-2019-1-HR-SPO-SCP).
